My Skincare Story (The Real One)
I’ve actually always used skincare.
My mother was in the business, and she taught me early how to care for my skin — so I wasn’t neglectful or uninformed. I invested. A lot. Over the years, I spent thousands of dollars trying nearly everything on the market.
But here’s the truth: nothing really worked.
Most products just sat on my face. They felt nice in the moment, but they didn’t change my skin. I was still dry, still red, lacking color, and watching fine lines multiply. My makeup didn’t blend — it sat on top of my skin and emphasized everything I was trying to soften.
And I’ll be honest — I’m a bit of a chicken.
Painful treatments, aggressive facials, and anything that hurts? Not for me. I wanted results without trauma.
I was frustrated, disappointed, and honestly confused about why “good skincare” wasn’t delivering real change.
That’s when I discovered Korean skincare and, eventually, ICD Skincare by RIMAN. The philosophy is completely different — it focuses on repairing the skin barrier and nourishing the skin at a cellular level, so products actually absorb and do something. For the first time, my skin felt hydrated, calm, and alive again. My makeup finally worked with my skin instead of against it.
This isn’t about chasing youth — it’s about healthy, resilient skin that reflects how I feel now.
And for the first time in a long time, my skin does.
